• Actively participate in all scrubbing responsibilities in compliance with HMH policies and AORN Recommended Standards of Practice.
• Displays an understanding of surgical procedures being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgical team.
• Demonstrates an understanding of how to care for surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies essential for the surgical procedure.
• Maintains compliance with the following standards of practice including but not limited to HMH Infection Control and OSHA requirements. Understands proper handling of surgical specimens in accordance with department and HMH policies and procedures.
• Understands aseptic and sterile field management including scrubbing, gowning, gloving, preparing the sterile field, and identifying breaks in sterility.
• Assists the surgical team in the room turnover and preparation for the next surgical procedure.
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives, preceptorship of new team members, and other activities that will improve patient outcomes.
• Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
• Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

• Graduated from an accredited education program for Surgical Technologists.
• Demonstrate the ability to successfully complete orientation and all associated competencies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) unless exempt per NJ Surgical Technology Certification Law.
• AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.

Starting at $28.93 Hourly. HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members.
