The Specialty Care Transport Nurse will utilize the nursing process and established best practices to assess, plan, evaluate and document nursing care of patients in both the out of hospital and interfacility environments. They will understand and apply specialized critical care principals and techniques including basic and advanced life support treatment.
Education,Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Graduate of an approved School of Nursing.
- Demonstrates the ability to successfully complete orientation and all associated competencies including but not limited to IABP, Impella, EVD, ventilator management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
- BSN Licenses
Required:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification.
- AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
- NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification within 60 days of entering position.
- Valid Driver's License from a USA state.
- Prehospital Trauma Life Support Certification or Trauma Nursing Core Course Certification within 60 days of entering position.
- Emergency Medical Technician Certification New Jersey within 60 days of entering position.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 60 days of entering position.
- Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic Certification (MICP) or Mobile Intensive Care Nurse certification (MICN) required for 911/Advanced Life Support response only. Appropriate nursing candidates can be trained by EMS for the MICN if the MICP is not held by applicant.
