PRN Physical Therapist Job in New Jersey

We are seeking a PRN Physical Therapist to join an outpatient and home care rehabilitation team serving multiple locations in New Jersey. This role is designed for clinicians who want flexible scheduling, professional autonomy, and the ability to support patient care across both clinic and home visit environments. About the Role

The PRN Physical Therapist will provide high quality patient care within an outpatient and home care setting. Responsibilities include performing initial evaluations, developing individualized care plans, delivering therapeutic interventions, and updating clinical documentation in accordance with state practice standards. The ideal candidate brings strong clinical judgment, reliable communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with adult and geriatric patient populations.

This position requires the therapist to support two practice locations. Travel between locations may be required based on scheduling needs. PRN clinicians will also have opportunities to complete home care visits when needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete physical therapy evaluations and functional assessments
• Develop customized treatment plans based on patient diagnosis and goals
• Deliver skilled interventions to improve mobility, strength, and functional outcomes
• Provide patient and caregiver education
• Document all patient encounters in WebPT or similar EMR systems
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support continuity of care
• Provide PRN coverage for day, evening, weekend, and home visit shifts
• Maintain compliance with state regulations and professional standards

Required Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Physical Therapist license
• Doctor of Physical Therapy degree (DPT)
• Minimum one year of clinical experience
• PAM Certification required
• Experience providing care to adult and geriatric patients
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and caregivers
• Comfort working in both outpatient and home care environments
• Ability to travel between two practice locations
• Background check required

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with WebPT documentation system
• Prior outpatient or home care experience
• Strong time management skills
• Ability to work independently while supporting team collaboration

Available Schedules

• Day shift Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm
• Evening shift 4pm to 8pm
• Weekend availability
• Home care visits as assigned
• Flexible PRN hours based on availability

Compensation

Hourly compensation is based on experience and clinical skill level.

• New graduates start at $37 per hour
• 1 to 2.5 years experience: $37 to $45 per hour
• 3 to 5 years experience: $45 to $53 per hour
• 5+ years up to $60 per hour
• Highly specialized clinicians with 7+ years may be eligible for up to $65 per hour

A productivity bonus may also be available based on performance metrics.
