Responsibilities
  • Comply with and enforce all state and federal regulations and institutional policies relating to pharmaceutical care and medication management.
  • Review and verify all medications prior to dispensing, including allergies, drug‑drug interactions, drug‑food interactions, and clinical appropriateness.
  • Oversee dispensing, chain of custody, and accountability of controlled substances.
  • Handle investigational drugs where applicable.
  • Adhere to USP 795, 797, and 800 standards for sterile and nonsterile compounding and hazardous drugs.
  • Supervise ancillary personnel (Pharmacy Technicians and Assistants/Couriers).
  • Apply safe medication best practices as recommended by I‑SMP, Joint Commission, and institutional guidelines.
  • Provide patient counseling and participate in clinical initiatives (renal dose adjustments, IV‑to‑PO conversions, antibiotic stewardship, opioid stewardship).
  • Train pharmacy staff and residents, educate students and interns.
  • Maintain network and departmental competencies, licensing and certification requirements.
  • Perform unit inspections to assure medication management standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy with a minimum of a BS degree in Pharmacy.
  • Registered Pharmacist License.
  • 1–2 years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of USP 795, 797, and 800 principles.
  • EPIC experience preferred.
Compensation

Minimum rate of $70.22 per hour.
