As part of our effort to transform healthcare, the Applications Analyst V gathers business requirements, conducts needs assessments, and develops functional specifications, ensuring that information‑technology solutions support business objectives.

Applications Analyst positions focus on the Epic revenue‑cycle modules plus Epic modules in inpatient, outpatient, and ancillary areas. Hybrid locations require up to 50% on‑site presence in Edison or other HMH locations.

Responsibilities
  • Performs project management for all software implementation, maintenance, and support processes.
  • Coordinates software building, testing, and support tasks within the team and with other IT work groups, vendors, and departments.
  • Provides technical expertise and mentors junior staff to promote development.
  • Participates in developing departmental policies and procedures and in process improvement efforts.
  • Promotes teamwork, facilitates communication, and serves as a role model.
  • Leads installation/upgrades of applications, configures settings, and validates work performed by lower‑level analysts.
  • Coordinates end‑user support activities and runs meetings across the facility.
  • Provides go‑live support for new applications, modules, and functionality.
  • Analyzes necessary application modifications, working with IT associates and vendors.
  • Interprets end‑user requirements, discusses options, and guides clients toward optimal solutions.
  • Evaluates operational workflow, creates system specifications, test plans, and executes testing.
  • Documents outcomes, reviews lower‑level test plans, and ensures consistency and thoroughness.
  • Responsible for implementation, troubleshooting, and ongoing support.
  • Delivers oral and written communications to teams and other departments.
  • Updates system, operational, and department documentation.
  • Recommends process improvements.
  • Provides on‑call support for applications.
  • Preceptors new staff in the department.
  • Performs related duties incidental to the work described herein, including lifting a minimum of 20 lbs.
  • Adheres to the Medical Center’s organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; relevant years of experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of IT experience in healthcare (or 4 years IT + 2 years clinical).
  • Manages day‑to‑day activities of assigned analysts, prioritizing work and coordinating resources.
  • Uses advanced techniques, theories, and processes to complete work.
  • Team player who can multi‑task in a progressive environment.
  • Interacts with healthcare professionals at all levels and presents to groups.
  • Organizes and coordinates small groups to achieve departmental goals.
  • Works independently and manages time without supervision.
  • Strong desktop skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Works in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Creates and maintains clear documentation.
  • Collaborates with team members across the department.
  • Demonstrates self‑direction.
Preferred
  • Project Management experience.
  • Epic and/or other relevant certifications or experience with related applications.
Benefits & Compensation

Starting at $131,144 annually. HMH offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits. Compensation may vary based on market data, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity.
