Join a 13-week travel Occupational Therapist (OT) assignment in Edison, NJ, with 8-hour day shifts in a skilled nursing facility. As an OT, you will assess residents’ physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities to develop individualized treatment plans that promote independence and safety.

You will evaluate daily living skills such as bathing, dressing, transferring, and medication management, as well as cognitive functions like memory and reasoning. OTs teach residents new ways to perform daily activities, recommend assistive devices, and suggest environmental modifications for safer navigation. You will also support community re-engagement, educate caregivers and family members on adaptive strategies, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to create coordinated care plans.

Interventions focus on activities of daily living (ADLs), instrumental ADLs, transfer training, functional mobility, and preparatory activities to help residents regain strength and independence. Qualifications typically include a degree in occupational therapy, state licensure, and strong skills in patient assessment, treatment planning, and interdisciplinary teamwork.

Experience with rehabilitation and geriatric populations is recommended.
