Overview
Regional Director, Patient Access Services – Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH). This role provides oversight, guidance, and communication across the enterprise for Patient Access operations. The position collaborates with stakeholders and leadership to establish and lead a multichannel patient engagement vision and comprehensive access across the system. Responsible for developing patient access policies in collaboration with regulatory and compliance teams and overseeing scheduling, pre-registration, registration, insurance verification, financial clearance, capacity management, data integrity, and training.
A key leader who promotes teamwork, drives innovation, and serves as a role model for creative problem solving.
- This position can be hybrid; a combination of on-site and off-site responsibilities.
- Lead scheduling, pre-registration and registration processes to ensure accurate patient information and seamless access to care. Collect co-insurance, co-payments, or provide estimated out-of-pocket costs where applicable.
- Manage enterprise-wide cash collections, reconciliation of point-of-service collections, and quality assurance in training development.
- Establish and monitor front-end processes, including audits and feedback loops for front-end errors, preventable denials, estimates, and collections.
- Oversee enterprise-wide training for internal and external customers related to front desk operations and EMR management/upgrades.
- Articulate a clear vision for Access Services and PFS Team operations aligned with HMH’s mission and values; assess environmental trends and opportunities; develop succession plans; and communicate effectively to achieve goals.
- Review clinical performance of providers annually; advise on referrals to specialists; ensure provider credentials are complete and current.
- Identify growth opportunities and optimize department strengths for organizational benefit.
- Adhere to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
Required
- Bachelor degree in Business Management or related health field.
- Minimum of 8 years experience in front end revenue cycle.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive management experience.
- Demonstrated experience with IT functionality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain high morale in the workplace.
- Ability to train team members and provide direction as needed.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
Skills And Abilities
Preferred
- Masters degree in Business Management or related health field.
- Project management experience.
