Information Technology Operations Manager
Location: New York, NY
Salary: $140,000 - $175,000 per year. Pay varies by location, experience, and education. Eligible for an annual discretionary cash bonus (target 10%) and restricted stock units bonus (target 10%). These bonuses may be awarded semi‑annually.
Axos Bank is hiring a hands‑on technical IT Operations Manager who will oversee 24x7 production support, policy development, and technology planning. The role reports to the SVP Head of Infrastructure and demands strong leadership, technical expertise, and operational oversight.
Responsibilities- Oversee 24x7 production support teams, user technical support, and production job schedules.
- Assist in management of policy development and technology planning.
- Evaluate user needs and system functionality to confirm systems meet user and project requirements.
- Build and sustain strong partnerships with IS customers; accountable for quality of services and solutions delivered.
- Develop and implement policies, objectives, and short‑ and long‑range plans; lead projects to accomplish set goals.
- Design efficient processes and methodologies, including monitoring and reporting.
- Create IS tactical plans and execute roadmaps that ensure business and service continuity.
- Maintain smooth operations of all IT systems and data security.
- Track and understand applicable regulatory and reporting requirements.
- Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with regulatory and enterprise security requirements.
- Assist in preparing the IT organization’s disaster recovery and business continuity plans, policies, and procedures.
- Enhance monitoring of critical applications and develop operational run books in collaboration with senior management.
- Identify issues, trends, and opportunities to improve efficiency, cost‑effectiveness, and quality; recommend and implement solutions.
- Establish a stable performance environment by monitoring and analyzing problems.
- Ensure problems are identified and solved promptly and efficiently.
- Manage utilization and capacity monitoring of networks, data storage, servers, and telephony for managerial reporting and planning.
- Provide estimates, forecasting, and work‑planning assistance.
- Set SLAs and KPIs aligned to business objectives.
- Oversee procurement of software and hardware and manage IS assets and inventory.
- Perform configuration management and assess impacts of modifications and vulnerabilities.
- Manage annual fiscal planning and budgeting for the infrastructure group.
- Perform supervisory functions: interview, select, train new staff; approve or disapprove recommendations from subordinate staff; initiate disciplinary action as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in an enterprise IT operations production support role.
- 2+ years of leadership experience.
- Demonstrated hands‑on technical management and mentoring of a technical team.
- Experience in enterprise project planning and resourcing.
- Customer‑facing production support experience.
- Familiarity with monitoring solutions such as Solar Winds, Dynatrace, and Defense Storm.
- Knowledge of infrastructure technologies:
Windows, VMware, Active Directory. - Ability to support 24x7 operations.
- Detail‑oriented with superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving aptitude.
- Excellent organizational skills, capable of juggling multiple tasks.
- Proactive mindset.
- ITSM or Service Now experience.
- Certifications:
MCSE, VMware, Storage, PMP, CCNP, ITIL v3.
