IT APPLICATION ANALYST V – DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY SERVICES
Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH) is seeking an experienced IT Application Analyst V to join our Digital Technology Services team. The position is located in Edison, New Jersey, with a hybrid schedule requiring on‑site presence up to 50% of the time, or at various HMH locations as needed.

Our team members form the heart of what makes HMH better. We help patients live healthier lives and support one another to achieve excellence. This role supports mission‑critical Epic revenue cycle modules, as well as inpatient, outpatient and ancillary applications.
Responsibilities- Perform project management for all software implementation, maintenance, and support processes.
- Coordinate software building, testing, and support tasks within the team, with other IT work groups, departments, and vendors.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to team members, mentoring staff for development.
- Participate in the development of departmental policies, procedures, and process improvements.
- Promote teamwork, facilitate inter‑team and intra‑team communication, and act as a role model.
- Interact regularly with senior management as a high‑level specialist.
- Lead installation/upgrading of applications, configure settings, and validate work performed by lower‑level analysts.
- Coordinate end‑user support activities.
- Attend, facilitate, and run meetings throughout the facility.
- Provide go‑live support for users on new applications, modules, and functionality.
- Oversee and/or perform analysis of necessary application modifications and coordinate with IT associates and vendors.
- Analyze business/clinical needs and requirements.
- Interpret end‑user requirements, discuss options, and guide clients toward optimal solutions.
- Evaluate operational workflows applied to the system.
- Create system specifications from user requirements.
- Create test plans and test new systems, version upgrades, and modifications.
- Document all testing outcomes; review lower‑level analysts’ test plans and outcomes for consistency and thoroughness.
- Implement, troubleshoot, and support applications.
- Present oral and written communications to project teams and other departments.
- Update system, operational, and departmental documentation.
- Recommend areas for process improvements.
- Provide on‑call support for applications.
- Act as a preceptor for new staff in the department.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
- Lifts a minimum of 20 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 20 lbs., and stands a minimum of 4 hours a day.
- Adheres to the Medical Center’s Organizational Competencies and Standards of Behavior.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with relevant years of experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of IT experience in healthcare or related field, OR 4 years of IT experience with 2 years of clinical experience.
- Responsible for managing the day‑to‑day activities of assigned analysts, prioritizing work and coordinating resources.
- Uses advanced techniques, theories, and processes to complete work.
- Team player able to multi‑task in a progressive environment.
- Can interact with all levels of healthcare professionals and staff in one‑to‑one settings and for group presentations.
- Able to organize and coordinate actions of small groups to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
- Works independently and effectively manages time unsupervised.
- Strong desktop skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Can work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Creates and maintains clear, concise documentation.
- Collaborates with other team members across the department.
- Demonstrates self‑direction.
- Project Management experience.
- Epic and/or other relevant certification(s) or relevant application experience.
Starting at $ annually. The posted rate of pay is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role.
