We are looking for a
Lead Dynatrace Engineer to drive delivery and technical excellence on a flagship enterprise engagement with one of the largest academic medical centers in the US.
Our client operates a leading hospital system within a highly regulated healthcare environment, with a 24/7 Integrated Operations Center (IOC) and a major, multi-year technology transformation underway.
The engagement focuses on an enterprise-wide Dynatrace observability program delivered in partnership with a leading global systems integrator. The scope covers infrastructure, application performance monitoring (APM), and log monitoring, as well as monitoring architecture and optimization, AIOps, root-cause analysis, ITSM integration (including Service Now), and dashboard and IOC enablement. The role also requires a working command of the network-monitoring portion of the estate, so the engineer can review and support the network work alongside the team's specialists.
As the Lead Dynatrace Engineer, you will combine hands-on technical delivery with client-facing leadership. You will drive implementation and optimization at scale, lead technical reviews, and enable the client’s operations and engineering teams to manage and operate the platform independently.
Requirements
- Dynatrace Certified Professional (Implementation track; Administration a plus) — credential at application
- 4+ years in observability / APM / infrastructure monitoring, including 2+ years of hands-on production Dynatrace implementation (deploying and optimizing — not just consuming)
- Proven track record: a demonstrable portfolio of delivered Dynatrace programs on large estates, with measurable outcomes (faster MTTR, cost optimization, alert reduction) — you will be asked to walk us through them
- Technical depth:
One Agent / Active Gate architecture and tuning at scale, Davis AI, Grail, RUM, extension development (including custom integrations via OTel/API), ITSM integration, Grafana. Working knowledge of network monitoring as it relates to Dynatrace: SNMP, device collection, and network extensions - sufficient to review, validate, and contribute to the network-related work performed by specialist teammates on the delivery team - Clear, confident English (written and spoken); comfortable leading a client technical session unassisted
- Experience training client teams or building enablement programs
- Available for US Eastern time overlap (approximately 9:00–15:00 EST)
Responsibilities
- Lead Dynatrace implementation and optimization on a large multi-environment (on-prem + cloud) estate:
One Agent rollout completion, Active Gate architecture and tuning, extension remediation and custom development - Design and consolidate monitoring dashboards (Dynatrace-native and Grafana) and build alerting models with noise reduction and Service Now integration
- Own delivery quality across a phased program: orderly transition → architecture review and roadmap → optimization → hands-on execution and operational handover
- Run architecture reviews and technical sessions with the client's infrastructure, network, storage, and cloud teams. Review and contribute to the network-related portions of the Dynatrace work (Active Gate network collection, SNMP and device-extension health, network dashboards and alerting) performed by the team's network specialists - validating the approach, flagging issues, and stepping in to help where needed
- Act as the Dynatrace SME on scoping calls and technical reviews; articulate value to both technical and executive audiences
- Contribute to proposals, estimates, and roadmaps; help define the right Dynatrace scope for each opportunity
- Run knowledge transfer and enablement for the client's operations and engineering teams,…
