Based in New Jersey; travel to North Carolina every 6 weeks (additional travel as required to project sites).
The Director of Safety is responsible for leading and managing the overall safety program for the company, ensuring that all construction activities—particularly in heavy civil, roadway, bridge, and utility projects—are performed in compliance with regulatory standards and company policies. This individual will serve as the champion of a strong safety culture, continuously improving safety policies, practices, and training while mentoring both field and management personnel.
The role requires a balance of leadership, field engagement, and policy development, with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement in safety management.

The Director of Safety is responsible for leading and managing the overall safety program for the company, ensuring that all construction activities—particularly in heavy civil, roadway, bridge, and utility projects—are performed in compliance with regulatory standards and company policies. This individual will serve as the champion of a strong safety culture, continuously improving safety policies, practices, and training while mentoring both field and management personnel.

- Oversee the Company’s Safety Program and ensure projects are in compliance with OSHA, DOT, and all other federal, state, and local safety laws and standards.
- Continuously review and update safety policies and practices based on new regulations, industry best practices, technological advances, and lessons learned
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of safety professionals, ensuring consistency, accountability, and professional growth across the safety department.
- Analyze trends, perform research and implement tools, systems, and technologies that enhance, automate, and improve safety management processes.
- Organize, manage, and deliver safety training for employees at all levels, including hazard recognition, equipment safety, traffic control, excavation safety, and emergency response.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive safety leadership experience in heavy civil construction (road, bridge, and utility work required).
