Nurse Practitioner Cardiovascular OceanUMC Brick NJ

The Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) utilizes a patient-centered coordinated care model, demonstrating competencies in leadership, direct clinical practice, consultation/collaboration, coaching/guiding, research, and ethical decision-making. The APN works collaboratively with the practice/hospital team to assess, plan, and implement care for individuals with health and safety needs.

This nurse practitioner role is in an administrative setting and does not involve procedures or assisting in procedures.

Duties include:

Managing the database and registry with the database people, Reviewing quality metrics and fulfillment of accreditation standards, data report involvement, managing the care of interventional patients (pre and post) to ensure that guidelines are followed and standards of care are met (no direct patient care)
Primary location will be Ocean University Medical Center, Brick NJ.

Preference for an APP with practice experience in Cardiology, previous cardiac clinical expertise in cardiac surgery/ Cath lab.

Education,

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

1. Graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited nursing program.
2. Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
3. Maintains clinical competencies through continuing education and clinical practice.
4. Experience in a relevant patient care setting (or as regulations dictate). 5. National Provider Identifier (NPI). 6. Prescriptive authority through CDS and DEA registration according to New Jersey state law. 7. Collaborative agreement with physicians on staff.
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
9. Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms. Education,

Required:

1. NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.
2. Advanced Nurse Practitioner (w/ Master's Degree). 3. BLS AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
4. Board certified by AANP or ANCC. Licenses and Certifications Preferred:
1. Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification.
