OverviewThe Registered Nurse functions as a caregiver for a specific patient population to achieve desired outcomes. This position focuses on expanding knowledge and skills, providing effective direct care as part of the interdisciplinary team to complex patients, and directing and overseeing care provided by other caregivers through delegation, validation, evaluation, and coordination.

- Deliver nursing practices based on evidence‑based research, policies, and standards of care.
- Conduct assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation activities.
- Collect comprehensive data, perform independent systematic assessment, recognize clinical changes, and identify education needs.
- Develop and coordinate a patient‑centered plan of care with age and disease‑specific goals.
- Communicate, coordinate, and implement care plans; maintain ongoing communication with patients, families, and the care team.
- Perform electronic documentation of assessments, plans, interventions, and evaluations.
- Administer medications safely using bar‑scanning and documentation technologies.
- Participate in multidisciplinary discharge planning.
- Evaluate progress toward outcomes and initiate interventions for changes in patient condition.
- Identify ethical issues and raise them with team members.
- Recognize opportunities to enhance patient satisfaction.
- Maintain required competencies, certifications, and continuing education.
- Adhere to the American Nurses Association Code for Nurses.
- Lift a minimum of 35 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 10 lbs., and stand for a minimum of 6 hours a day.
- Adhere to HMH organizational and managerial competencies and standards of behavior.
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Associate in Nursing or Nursing Diploma. BSN in progress and/or to be earned within three years of hire (for hires on or after Nov 2019).
- Minimum of six months relevant nursing experience or active participation in the Hackensack Meridian Health Nurse Residency Program.
- Strong learning agility, accountability, teamwork, dedication to ongoing education, and a passion for patient‑focused care.
- National certification in area of specialty when eligible.
- Current and valid Registered Nurse license at the assigned location by date of hire.
- BLS/CPR certification by the American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
Minimum hourly rate: $45.14
Job Duties & Compensation NotesThe rates posted serve as an estimate of the base pay. Final compensation may vary based on market data, experience, education, certifications, skills, geographic location, internal equity, and departmental budgets. Shift differentials may apply.
