Nurse Practitioner Hospitalist House Coverage Part Time with Benefits (24 hrs)

Part‑time (24 hrs/week) Nurse Practitioner covering house shifts (13 hrs 7a‑8:30pm, at least one weekend day and one major holiday per year). Working within Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH) and compliant with New Jersey regulations.

• Perform accurate history and physical assessments appropriate for each patient.
• Order, perform, and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic studies in collaboration with physicians.
• Manage general medical and surgical conditions using evidence‑based practice.
• Prescribe medication safely and educate patients on pharmacology and self‑management.
• Participate in daily interdisciplinary rounds and coordinate care across the team.
• Advocate for patients and families, identifying and resolving obstacles to care.
• Engage in quality improvement, research, and dissemination of best practice through conferences and publications.
• Mentor other Advanced Practice Nurses and contribute to educational programs.

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program (NLN/AACN). Master’s or Doctorate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Valid New Jersey State Registered Nurse license, Advanced Practice Nurse license, and BLS certification.
• Prescriptive authority through CDS and DEA registration per New Jersey state law.
• Collaborative agreement with physicians on staff and National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in a relevant patient care setting (e.g., emergency, critical care, house/hospitalist). Experienced house/Hospitalist or critical care preferred.

Annual salary minimum $89,281.92. HMH offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits.
