Per Diem
The Registered Nurse functions as a caregiver for a specific patient population in order to achieve desired outcomes. This position focuses on expanding knowledge and skills, provides effective direct care, and directs and oversees the care provided by other caregivers through delegation and coordination. The role effectively coordinates patient care unit activities among nursing peers, physicians, and support services.
Responsibilities- Assessment:
Collects comprehensive data relevant to the patient's health or situation, performs age and disease specific assessment independently, recognizes clinical status changes, and identifies education needs. - Plan:
Develops a plan of care that prescribes strategies and interventions to attain expected outcomes. - Implementation:
Communicates and implements the plan of care, coordinates with the team, provides education, ensures documentation, and performs medication administration with bar‑scanning technology. - Evaluation:
Evaluates progress toward outcomes, uses critical thinking to adjust care, initiates interventions when conditions change, identifies ethical issues, and seeks opportunities to enhance satisfaction. - Additional:
Maintains competencies, certifications, and continuing education; lifts a minimum of 35 lbs.; works a minimum of 6 hours per day; adheres to ANA Code and HMH standards.
- BSN in progress or willingness to acquire within 3 years
- Six or more months of relevant nursing experience, or participation in Hackensack Meridian Health’s Nurse Residency Program
- Ability to learn quickly, adapt, teamwork and dedication to ongoing education
- BLS/CPR certification within 60 days of hire
- National certification in area of specialty
- NJ State Professional Registered Nurse
- Starting at $45.14 hourly
- HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency; posted rates represent a reasonable estimate of the minimum base pay.
The starting rate is provided for informational purposes only and may differ based on market data, experience, education, location, and other non‑discriminatory factors. Successful candidates may receive performance‑based incentives, bonuses, and shift differentials.
