Food Service Host - Part Time - Evening

Join us as a Food Service Host – Part Time – Evening at Hackensack Meridian Health. The Host serves as the main customer‑service representative in the Food Services Department, delivering trays, assisting patients with menu selections, and ensuring a positive dining experience.

• Understand diet orders, restrictions, and allergies for patients and correctly administer the proper diet order.
• Review notes or requests before selecting menus and ensure accurate patient identification.
• Coordinate with kitchen and office staff to ensure timely tray delivery, correct menu explanations, and proper tube‑feeding or snack delivery.
• Communicate calmly and professionally with patients and coworkers, including following patient scripts and explaining the Bedside Bistro program.
• Adhere to dress code, personal hygiene, and sanitation assignments; maintain patient food refrigerator and food carts.
• Use CBORD to enter menu selections, delivery times, and additional requests; update the tray monitor when a tray is delivered.
• Perform other duties or projects as assigned and adhere to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

• High School diploma or GED.
• Basic computer skills.

• Food service experience.
• Customer service experience.

The starting rate of pay is $17.32 per hour. Compensation is determined based on labor market data, experience, education, skills, location, internal equity, and budget considerations. Eligible positions may receive performance incentives, bonuses, commissions, and shift differentials for evening, night, or weekend work.
