VP, Retail Business Development Officer

Base pay range$/yr - $/yr
BASIC FUNCTIONResponsible for the cultivation and development of Centers of Influence (COIs) that refer profitable new business relationships with strong commercial non‑interest bearing deposit, cash management and commercial lending needs. Works closely with the Market Manager, Retail Financial Center Management, the Business Banker, and the C&I and CRE Lenders. Focuses on “deposit‑rich” industries and companies with annual revenues greater than $5 mm.
MAJORRESPONSIBILITIES
- Cultivate, develop, and leverage Centers of Influence that will refer non‑interest bearing DDA relationships, cash management and commercial lending prospects to the bank.
- Gather and present completed loan packages for underwriting, including financial information, loan structure, pricing recommendation, collateral description and a write‑up outlining company history, type of business, customer base, purpose of loan and other supporting information.
- Develop and implement an annual business development plan.
- Develop business relationships through COIs, networking events, prospecting and telemarketing within assigned markets. Participate in the Retail Bank’s community involvement activities.
- Cross‑sell the bank’s complete product line including Banking Plus, Merchant and Cash Management services.
- Track and report business development activities monthly.
- Participate in monthly business development meetings with the Business Banker, Retail Bank Management, and individual branch sales meetings.
- Participate in sales calls with Retail Bank Management, and C&I & CRE Lending partners to uncover non‑interest bearing deposit, cash management and commercial lending opportunities.
- Work closely with the Market Manager and Director of Retail Administration to provide feedback on service and retail sales related issues.
- Keep abreast of products, applications, technical services, market conditions and competitive activities.
- Perform other duties as required.
College Degree or a combination of education and experience equivalent to an undergraduate degree.
Formal small business credit training a plus.
Experience- Minimum of 5 years as a Business Banking Officer at a commercial bank.
- Excellent communication, organizational and sales skills required.
- Basic knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software required.
- Goal‑oriented individual – displaying self‑motivation, initiative and teamwork.
- Solid People Skills
