The Liquor Sales Specialist role at IDT covers a defined metro territory in Bergen County, New Jersey, where the hire acquires independent liquor store accounts for National Retail Solutions. The field-based position sells the NRS point-of-sale platform, which combines cloud-connected sales tools, inventory management, age-verification compliance, and integrated payments. The customer base includes independent wine businesses , liquor stores, and spirits retailers.
Monthly and quarterly new-account targets shape the work. Prospecting uses liquor industry networks, cold outreach, and distributor partnerships. In-store demonstrations cover inventory management, age verification, and payments before the sales cycle moves through contract execution and hardware installation. Local trade events and association meetings add a second channel for building the division's presence.
- Employer: IDT
- Work arrangement: Field-based
- Pay: $85,000 On Target Earnings in year one, up to $100,000 in year two, plus a participating commission plan
- Customer focus: Independent liquor stores and other alcohol retailers
Applicants submit a resume or CV through the public application record. A current resume can detail B2B field sales, liquor industry relationships, POS or payment experience, and daily territory travel readiness.
The role also requires a valid driver's license and consistent travel within the assigned metro territory.
The assigned territory centers on independent retail accounts that need a practical way to manage transactions, stock, and age-restricted sales. Account conversations begin with the store's current workflow, then connect a specific operating problem to a product capability.
New-account acquisition includes outreach to store owners, liquor industry contacts, distributors, and other channel partners. A successful sales cycle moves from qualification to an in-store demonstration, commercial terms, contract execution, and hardware installation. The field schedule places customer visits and local trade activity alongside office-based preparation.
NRS provides a cloud-connected point-of-sale system with inventory management, age-verification compliance, and integrated payments. Each capability addresses a separate retail task: transaction processing, stock visibility, legal checks at the point of sale, and payment collection.
Sales conversations in wine and spirits require clear product language as well as commercial judgment. WSET guidance connects beverage work with category knowledge, tasting, pricing, margin management, demand tracking, and supplier negotiation. Those subjects give a sales specialist useful context when a retailer evaluates technology alongside its beverage business.
Experience And Territory ReadinessThe hiring profile calls for at least three years of B2B field sales experience with consistent quota attainment. A verifiable liquor industry network can include distributors, wholesalers, brand representatives, and store owners. Experience with technology, software as a service, POS systems, payments, or alcohol products supports the account conversations.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel daily within the territory
- Credit-card processing experience
- Familiarity with ABC compliance and age-verification requirements preferred
- Participation in WSWA, NABCA, or state liquor trade associations preferred
- Bilingual ability in Spanish, Korean, Hindi, Urdu, or Arabic preferred
The position combines prospecting with demonstrations and installation coordination, so the sales record needs to show both commercial discipline and comfort with retail operations. Daily…
