Position OverviewThis is a regular Student Clerical position with the Center for Excellence in Transformative Teaching & Learning (CETTL) assigned primarily to the Educators’ Leadership Academy (ELA). This position will perform a variety of event- and customer service-related functions. Typical duties may include but are not limited to event promotion, event setup, customer service, and usage of Microsoft Office applications.
Hours per WeekAverage of 10 hours per week (generally 8am-5pm, but some nights & weekends required).
College/Department OverviewThe Center for Excellence in Transformative Teaching & Learning (CETTL) collaborates with other campus units and individuals to offer programs, services, and resources to encourage, enhance, and support faculty in helping students learn. CETTL is comprised of four major programs: the Educator’s Leadership Academy (ELA), the 21st Century Pedagogy Institute, the Student Transformative Learning Record (STLR), and the annual Transformative Learning Conference.
The Educators’ Leadership Academy provides workshop-style professional development learning opportunities for faculty and staff from a variety of regional academic institutions. Workshops typically span two days multiple times per year on topics such as effective conflict engagement for educators, strategic planning and budgeting, curriculum development, and navigating cultural differences. ELA has four main academies:
Academic Leadership Fellows Academy, Higher Education Department Chair Academy, Transformative Leadership Academy, and Administrative Support Professionals Academy. ELA also provides support for events in CETTL.
This student position will support the operations of CETTL in many ways, with a primary focus on ELA professional development programs.
- Work directly with the Director of the Educators’ Leadership Academy to achieve programmatic goals.
- Must be available to work some evening and weekend events. At least 3 weeks’ notice will be given for work schedule adjustments.
- Provide logistical assistance to ELA and CETTL for events and activities, including:
- Room setup: movement of tables and chairs, registration setup, food and beverage, and educational materials for participants.
- Assisting with the attendee check-in process.
- Setup, test audio/video equipment including projectors, built-in computer, microphones and speakers before event.
- Maintaining and updating registration lists for event attendee tracking.
- Creating signage and nametags.
- Organizing and moving materials/equipment.
- Assisting with the creation, editing, and distribution of event programs, flyers, and advertisements.
- Working with vendors to accept delivery of food and materials.
- Utilize social media (Linked In, etc.) to promote ELA and CETTL programs and activities.
- Complete basic data-entry tasks in ELA and CETTL databases.
- Create and maintain inventories of office supplies and program-specific products.
- Be service-orientated by actively looking for ways to help staff and visitors.
- Other duties as assigned.

All student employees must be enrolled at least half-time to be eligible to work any UCO student position. Half-time enrollment for fall/spring semesters is considered 5 hours for graduates and 6 hours for undergraduates. International students must be enrolled full-time to be eligible to work as a student employee. Full-time enrollment is 9 credit hours for graduates and 12 credit hours for undergraduates.
Summer Semester
:
Student employees working regular student positions must be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours to be eligible to work during the summer. Students not enrolled in summer classes must be enrolled in fall classes in order to work during the summer, but they (and the department) will be required to pay FICA taxes. Student employees working FWSP positions must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours (if undergraduate) or 5 credit hours (if graduate) in order to work during the summer in a Federal Work…
