Grocery Buyer; Technical - Food Labs

This is a student technical position assisting an instructor with food lab preparations in Central Station Café. The role requires a valid, unexpired driver’s license and reliable personal transportation.

Hours per Week: 4 hours maximum, Monday-Friday.

Department: College of Education and Professional Studies, Human Environmental Sciences, Nutrition and Food Science, Food Lab.

Job Functions: Use personal vehicle to pick up groceries from stores like Walmart, Sam’s Club, Crest, or other food establishments as ordered by instructors. Unpack and organize groceries for classes, take weekly inventory, and perform light duties as assigned.

Enrollment Requirements: Students must be enrolled at least half-time during fall/spring (5 hours for grads, 6 for undergrads). Full-time enrollment (9 hours grads, 12 undergrads) is required for international students. During summer, at least 3 credit hours are needed, or 6/5 hours for FWSP positions. Exceptions require a letter from an academic advisor.

Qualifications: Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation.

Skills: Excellent communication, intercultural sensitivity, interpersonal skills, ability to lift 20 lbs, detail-oriented, dependable, punctual.
