Position: DONOR ROOM PHLEBOTOMIST

DONOR ROOM PHLEBOTOMIST

Our Blood Institute is actively seeking qualified candidates for a rewarding position that is responsible for providing a safe and pleasant blood donation experience for donors. This role offers world‑class paid on‑the‑job training with no experience required.

Qualifications
:
Considered applicants must have a high school diploma or GED. College classes are a plus.

Location
:
Edmond, OK

Pay
:
Competitive pay based on experience; additional pay for technical school certification, associate degree, bachelor’s degree, fluent Spanish; world‑class paid on‑the‑job training; $500 bonus after 6 months and $1,000 bonus after 1 year.

Days and Hours
:
Varied based on when blood drives are scheduled.

Primary Responsibilities
:

  • Perform registration, vitals, medical screening, phlebotomy, heat sealing duties, and record keeping for whole‑blood, autologous, directed, therapeutic, testing services, and research projects.
  • Strictly adhere to all standard operating procedures ensuring all blood products are collected within the quality standards set by regulatory agencies including the FDA.
  • Assist supervisor in verifying and completing daily paperwork.
  • Alert the supervisor of any problems or concerns related to equipment, venipuncture, donor questions/issues, or equipment performance.
  • Continually assess donor needs throughout the donation process, including evaluating and treating donor reactions.
  • Educate donors on blood facts such as donation frequency and the need for blood products.
  • Assist with additional duties assigned by supervisor.

Additional Requirements:

  • Reliable transportation.
  • Working telephone.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs regularly.
  • Detail oriented, on‑time, reliable, good communicator, and works well with others.
