Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position on the night shift requiring an active OK or compact RN license and at least one year of nursing experience.
Responsibilities- Work on the Med/Surg unit located on the 3rd and 4th floors of a hospital
- Provides care to patients with a variety of medical and surgical health problems
- Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, three days per week
- Assignment length is 13 weeks
- No local candidates within a 50-mile radius are eligible for this travel assignment
- Responsible for an assigned group of patients and implementing prescribed nursing interventions
- Administers medication, initiates and monitors IV infusions, and assists with diagnostic procedures
- Documents patient responses and communicates changes in condition promptly
- Collaborates with physicians and support staff to coordinate patient care
- Educates patients and families about care plans and hospital procedures
- Delegates tasks appropriately to support staff
- Compliance with hospital-specific dress code required
- Extension limited to one additional term for a total of 26 weeks; 6 month separation required before reapplying
- Active RN license issued by Oklahoma or a compact multistate RN license (eNLC)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
- Minimum of one year recent Med/Surg nursing experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to respond to diverse cultural and language needs
