Position: Recovery Technician (PRN)

Reports To: Recovery Technician Supervisor

Location: Northpoint Washington (Adult inpatient in Edmonds, WA)

Schedule: As needed;
Available shifts are:

  • Days: 6am-6:30pm
  • Swing: 12pm-8:30pm
  • Nights: 6pm-6:30am

Compensation: $22‑24.50/hour + Shift Differential

Position Summary

The Recovery Technician attends to the safety and wellbeing of patients and works with a multidisciplinary treatment team to provide the best possible patient care. The role supports the implementation of programming and care plans by providing direct and indirect patient care that complies with Northpoint policies for unlicensed staff, maintaining the structure of the milieu and supervising patients. Work occurs across a variety of settings, including onsite at the facility and other community activities.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Interact routinely with patients, observe behaviors and communicate significant observations to clinical staff
  • Follow reporting and communication guidelines when interacting with staff and patients
  • Complete paperwork accurately and promptly, including daily logs and forms
  • Maintain daily schedules and structure, with attention to transport times, meal times and transition times
  • Provide patient observation rounds and consistent monitoring during scheduled shifts
  • Attend and promote recreational outings and activities, encouraging pro‑social and coping skills
  • Ensure the wellbeing of patients by creating a positive, supportive, and structured environment; respond proactively to patient needs
  • Maintain facility cleanliness and upkeep under leadership direction
  • Assist patients as needed and collaborate with onsite clinical and medical staff
  • Facilitate and assist with selected activity and education group sessions; document in a timely and accurate manner
  • Oversee safe and efficient transport of patients to and from the facility
  • Assist in orientation of new admissions
  • Use therapeutic communication skills and maintain professional boundaries with patients and families
  • Model professional attitude, language, and communication to create a positive culture
  • Assist with treatment and discharge planning
  • Document client care and behavior information per established policies
  • Apply de‑escalation skills in volatile situations to ensure safety of clients and staff
  • Support counseling and administrative staff in emergency responses
  • Maintain confidentiality per policies and standards of care
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Perform other job‑related duties as assigned
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • 1+ year of relevant work experience
  • English usage and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to implement and interpret department programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to set strong personal boundaries and build rapport with patients
  • Knowledge of surrounding geographic area for efficient routing
  • Organize and prioritize competing priorities and balance demands
  • Proficiency in patient rights, safety, and sanitation competencies

Conditions of Employment
  • Completion of tuberculin screening
  • Completion of pre‑employment drug screening (including post‑accident and reasonable‑suspicion cases)
  • Completion of new employee orientation and required paperwork prior to reporting
  • Demonstrated computer literacy
  • Completion of CPR/First Aid Training within first 90 days
  • Attendance at all mandatory staff development and training
  • Completion of background and professional reference checks
  • Completion of a Motor Vehicle Record check
