Overview

Central Kitchen Stewards are responsible for receiving and putting away freight, icluding whole pallets. They are also responsible for portioning and packaging of prepared goods in the PCC Central Kitchen.

Main

Job Responsibilities
  • Provides and models excellent, professional customer service
  • Participates in the receiving, ordering, producing, portioning and inventory of Central Kitchen products and supplies
  • Operates a powered pallet jack to move and position freight
  • Works collaboratively with the management team to ensure accurate receipt of goods
  • Participates in department planning with the Central Kitchen management team
  • Ensures department sanitation, cleanliness and safety standards are met
Qualifications and Skills
  • Proven ability to provide excellent professional customer service
  • Experience in handling freight, including rotation of perishables, operating a pallet jack
  • Must have general understanding of cooking methods, natural food ingredients, and alternative foods
  • Available to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends
  • The ability to demonstrate organizational and planning skills
  • Computer knowledge and skills, including Microsoft Office products
  • The ability to multitask on an ongoing basis
  • Good leadership, teambuilding, and communication skills
  • Must be able to meet physical demands including standing, bending, twisting, repetitive motion, and lifting 10 – 55lbs regularly
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
