American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 2 years of recent L&D/LDRP experience and a WA or compact RN license.
Details- Labor and Delivery unit caring for Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, OB Triage, Antepartum, and Normal Newborn patients
- Facility averages 200-300 births per month
- Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
- Float required as needed within the facility
- Performs vaginal and cesarean deliveries, circulates in OR, starts adult IVs, and administers blood/blood products
- Manages drains, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, insulin, and magnesium sulfate therapy
- Uses Epic EMR
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at submission
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in LDRP, L&D, PP, and Newborn care
- BLS, FHM, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood/blood product administration
- Skilled in maintaining central lines (CVC/PICC) and starting/maintaining IVs
- Experience with anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy
- Experience assisting with high-risk deliveries, circulating for C-sections, and recovering C-section patients
- Experience performing sterile vaginal exams and fetal monitoring
- Experience with IUPC placement and calibration
- Epic EMR experience required
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Provides comprehensive care across Labor and Delivery, High Risk Antepartum, and LDRP settings
- Performs triage of obstetrical patients and antepartum care
- Utilizes isolation precautions/PPE and pain management techniques including PCA (IV)
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities as needed
- Previous Providence permanent employees must have a minimum 3-month separation from the health system to qualify, and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Returning travelers may be considered after a 3-month break in service
- Local candidates accepted at the standard bill rate
- Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius or disclose distance for local rate eligibility
- First-time travelers are not considered for this position
