Travel Nurse RN - Labor and Delivery

Required Clinical Skills

The nurse must be able to perform and demonstrate experience with:

• Circulating C-sections independently (required)
• Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
• Starting and maintaining IVs
• Sterile vaginal exams
• Triage of obstetrical patients
• Administration of blood and blood products
• Magnesium Sulfate therapy
• Insulin drips
• Antihypertensive medications
• PCA pump management
• Epidural pump management
• Recovery of C-section patients
• Use and calibration of IUPC (Intrauterine Pressure Catheters)
• Central line maintenance (PICC/CVC)
• Management of high-risk deliveries

• BLS
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• AWHONN Intermediate
• FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring) Certification

Preferred Certification

• ACLS (preferred but not listed as a hard requirement)

• Active state RN license or
• Active Compact RN License (must be in hand at submission)

• Epic experience preferred/desired

• Must be willing to:
  • Float as needed
  • Float between Providence/Swedish sister facilities if required
• Refusal to float may result in termination of the assignment.
