The Aquatics Instructor is responsible for providing private swim instruction to clients; maintaining a safe and effective learning environment while focusing on the fulfillment of clients’ swimming goals; achieving personal revenue goals; and providing the best customer service and hospitality to members and guests.

Job Description

Under the direction of the Aquatics Manager, the Aquatics Instructor will provide instruction, design and deliver effective and rewarding sessions and workouts, provide swim evaluations, maintain accurate records, enforce pool rules and policies, and provide excellent communication with parents and members.

Primary Job Functions

• Provides instruction and corrective feedback to clients
• Designs and delivers effective sessions and workouts
• Provides swim evaluations and maintains accurate records
• Enforces pool rules and policies
• Maintains a consistent work schedule and provides excellent communication

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Current Lifeguard/CPR/AED certification
• Understanding of best practices in learn-to-swim skills and competitive swim techniques
• Experience teaching swim lessons for all ages
• Sales and marketing knowledge
• Problem anticipation and deductive reasoning skills

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

• Work is typically performed outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to arrive on time for scheduled shifts and work weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Must be flexible and adaptable
• Position requires daily public contact and problem-solving skills
