Position: Capital Project Accountant at City
Enhance your accounting career with the City of Edmonton as a Capital Project Accountant. Collaborate in a professional setting while providing essential financial support to capital infrastructure projects in a hybrid work environment.

We are seeking accountants with a professional designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) and three years of relevant experience.

Your role will involve maintaining ledgers, analyzing funding, and preparing year-end statements. You will also monitor external funding agreements and deliver technical accounting advice to department officials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical accounting advice on financial policies

• Manage journal entries and reconciliations in the General Ledger

• Ensure integrity of Fixed Asset Systems and policies

• Prepare documentation for external funding financial reporting

• Organize year-end working papers and departmental statements

Requirements:

• Professional Accounting Designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA)

• Minimum 3 years of accounting and reporting experience

• Strong Excel, Google Sheets, and SAP skills

• Ability to perform complex financial analysis

• Excellent time management and communication skills
