The Senior Bookkeeper position is a critical role within our firm responsible for ensuring our clients receive high‑quality service. This includes mentoring teammates, supporting strategic initiatives, and maintaining accurate financial records.
Responsibilities
Lead and mentor bookkeepers, ensuring high standards of all bookkeeping tasks, communicating best practices, and recommending improvements to leadership.
Use experience and expertise to facilitate training for new and existing team members.
Stay up‑to‑date on system changes and mentor staff on these updates.
Provide support as the first point of contact for standards of practice and problem solving.
Work independently with staff and client files, providing audit checks and addressing concerns.
Assist with client onboarding and spearhead continual improvement and quality of service.
Model a high level of service for the Pro Fit team and attend seminars/conferences as needed.
Accurately manage all bookkeeping tasks for assigned clients, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, source deductions, GST remittance, and reconciliations.
Maintain positive relationships with assigned clients as the main point of contact.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and financial reporting standards.
Collaborate internally and externally to provide financial insights and support.
Qualifications
5+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience, ideally across different industries.
Bookkeeping/accounting certification, diploma or degree preferred.
Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
Proven record of building professional relationships with staff and clients.
Passion for developing staff and fostering a positive learning environment.
Experience handling multiple clients while coaching teammates.
Strong interest in professional development and growth.
Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
Technical Skills
Payment gateways:

Accounting software:
Quick Books Online, Sage, Net Suite.
Dext, Jobber, and related tools.

$55,000.00 – $58,500.00 per year.
