Accountant, Accounts Receivable​/ Collections, Financial Reporting

Position: Accountant (Contract)
We are seeking an Accountant to support transactional accounting and reconciliation activities within a retail-focused environment. This is a 6-month contract (with potential extension), starting May 2026. The role involves handling settlement reconciliations, accounts payable processing, journal entries, and supporting financial reporting activities across multiple systems in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities   Reconcile settlement files from third-party providers with recorded transactions
Ensure accuracy of cash receipts and process payments accordingly
Perform detailed reconciliation of AP invoices and submit for payment
Investigate discrepancies and resolve issues with third-party vendors
Monitor receivable balances and follow up on outstanding items
Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations (credit cards, loyalty, gift cards)
Record journal entries in financial systems (SAP/SMS)
Support ad-hoc financial analysis, reporting, and project work
Work across multiple systems and support retail business operations
Must-Have Requirements   1-3 years of accounting or financial experience
Strong reconciliation and transaction management skills

Experience with accounting systems (SAP or similar ERP systems)

Good analytical , problem-solving, and investigation skills
Proficiency in MS Excel and financial data handling
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Nice-to-Have   

Experience with tools like Blackline, Allegro, or similar platforms
Exposure to retail or multi-unit business environments
Understanding of payment processing (credit/debit/loyalty systems)
Education   Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
