About the Role:

Accounts Payable Lead
LJ Welding Automation is seeking an Accounts Payable Lead to join our Finance/Accounting Team. This role is responsible for overseeing the full-cycle accounts payable function within a manufacturing environment while supervising a team of two AP Technicians.

This position is ideal for an individual who possesses strong leadership skills and deep technical expertise in 3-way matching, and who thrives in a fast-paced, production-focused environment. This role reports to the Controller / Assistant Controller.

Key Responsibilities

AP Oversight:  Manage the end-to-end AP process including invoice intake, coding, approvals, and payment processing.

Team Leadership:  Supervise, train, and support two AP Technicians, ensuring workload allocation and deadlines are met.

Payment Management:  Ensure timely processing of vendor payments (cheques, EFTs, wire transfers) and monitor AP aging.

Reconciliations:  Perform and review vendor statement reconciliations and assist with month-end/year-end close activities.

Manufacturing Support:  Work closely with procurement and operations to resolve invoice discrepancies and manage 3-way matching.

Inventory Accuracy:  Ensure proper treatment of inventory and cost-related invoices within a manufacturing setting.

Process Improvement:  Identify opportunities to improve AP efficiencies and maintain internal controls.

System Support:  Support system enhancements or implementations, specifically within the Epicor Kinetic ERP system.

Skills & Qualifications

Education:

Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Experience:

5+ years of accounts payable experience, with 1–2 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity.

Technical

Skills:

Proficiency in ERP systems (Epicor Kinetic, SAP, or Oracle) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).

Industry Knowledge:  Strong understanding of 3-way matching (PO, receipt, invoice) within a manufacturing environment.

Core Competencies:

High level of accuracy, accountability, and a process-improvement mindset.
