Technical Financial Controller

Join our team as a Financial Controller in Edmonton, focusing on technical financial reporting and grant management. This role emphasizes compliance and audit readiness in a dynamic finance environment.

We seek an experienced Financial Controller to guide our accounting efforts under the VP of Finance.

Your role will involve full-cycle accounting and compliance management, crucial as we prepare for our first audit by 2027. You'll mentor operational teams, aligning financial excellence with broader objectives while optimizing our accounting processes using Xero and MRP systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure ASPE compliance in full-cycle accounting

• Lead month-end and year-end reporting processes

• Expertly manage grant tracking and compliance

• Design and implement internal controls and workflows

• Conduct cost analysis and inventory valuation

Requirements:

• CPA designation or actively pursuing it

• 3-5 years of corporate accounting or audit experience

• Strong ASPE knowledge and technical standards

• Familiarity with Xero or similar accounting systems

• Exceptional communication skills required
