Olympia Trust seeks a Senior Trust Accountant with a focus on Indigenous fiduciary accounts. This hybrid role emphasizes both technical accounting skills and cultural awareness in community engagement.
In this position, you will be responsible for the complete accounting and financial reporting for a range of Indigenous trust accounts. You will engage with community leaders and handling tasks such as preparing financial statements, managing distributions, and working on compliance issues. Your ability to navigate accounting technicalities while respecting cultural sensitivities will be key.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage complete trust accounting records
• Prepare and analyze financial statements monthly
• Resolve discrepancies in investment records
• Calculate trust distributions for various beneficiaries
• Liaise with auditors for tax filing support
Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years of trust accounting experience
• Indigenous trust accounting experience preferred
• CPA designation or relevant educational background
• Expertise in fiduciary principles and compliance
• Advanced Excel skills and integrity in financial management
