This position is located at Central Office in St. Paul and may have the flexibility to telework, work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.

The position analyzes federal project costs, prepares and approves Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) final vouchers, and ensures accurate reflection of costs and revenues to maximize federal funds. It manages modifications to federal funding throughout a project’s lifecycle, monitors and approves weekly FHWA billing for timely reimbursement, maintains accurate data on open federal projects, and performs additional financial management tasks as assigned.

Three years of professional accounting or finance experience that demonstrates:

• Knowledge and experience interpreting and applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting, cost allocations, and project funding requirements.
• Experience reviewing project funding costs to include determining correct funding codes and preparing project funding information.
• Experience analyzing financial documents for accuracy and compliance.
• Experience working with Oracle Peoplesoft, Statewide Integrated Financial Tools (SWIFT) or other governmental financial, procurement, and reporting systems.

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, business, or finance may substitute for one year of professional accounting or finance experience.

• Experience reviewing project cost eligibility for state or federal transportation funding projects/programs.
