Overview

Your Chance:
The unit clerk is responsible for managing the flow of information and providing clerical support to the continuing care team.

• Scheduling appointments, tests, therapies and consultations into electronic health records and other appropriate databases.
• Serving as the first point of contact in matters concerning the efficient administration of the Unit.
• Playing a key role in helping to foster a team setting on the Unit by facilitating communication between care teams, departments, residents, and families, and by maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
• Performing clerical support duties for the department.
• Maintaining patient electronic charts.
• Completing projects under tight timelines and with frequent interruptions.
• Gestating a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments.
• Performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.
