** Job Description
** Construction Structural Superintendents provide oversight and manage the performance of all field structural construction activities, providing construction support to contractors. Superintendents are to minimize or eliminate any obstruction to the efficient working of the project.
** Scope
* * Construction Structural Superintendents report to and take direction from Area Construction Managers. Superintendents are the first point of contact for technical issues and interfaces that arise in the field and will engage the necessary functions or organizations as required.
** Principal
Job Duties & Responsibilities** + Adhere to and support Fluor and the Project’s Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies. + Play an active role in the development of the safety culture on the project, making safety a natural part of all work performed. + Adhere to and support Fluor's Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies. + Monitor the work activities, schedules, equipment and labor requirements to meet established completion dates together with optimized productivity.
+ Oversee all activities with a driven focus on change management and project controls elements. + Directly support project and construction management with planning and utilization of proper means and methods for all construction activities. + Leverage internal and external resources to administer policies and procedures consistently across the project. + Analyze situations, identify and forecast pertinent problems and evaluate realistic options;
and recommend/implement appropriate course of action. + Organize and prioritize a variety of complex projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet critical time deadlines. + Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards. + Effectively develop and apply the Core Skills to the job. + Other duties as assigned. Superintendents act as the focal point for technical interfaces within the project team;
ensuring that Construction requirements are made known and promptly supported by other functions; and to coordinate with other groups in the Technical Services and Quality organizations to ensure that Construction delivers the requirements to support other project team members. Superintendents support the activities of monitoring, inspection, documenting, testing, and acceptance of completed work as outlined in the Quality Responsibility Matrix.
In this capacity, Construction Superintendents work closely with the Quality Manager and Technical Services Managers to ensure the requirements of the Site Quality Manual/Project Specifications are met. Evaluate change requests and interfaces with the contract administrator for the initiation and development of contract modifications and ensure that progress is accurately reported and verified, validation of daily Labor, equipment and Materials (LEMS) reports.
Review and validation of Contractor Daily Reports addressing any risk or delays noted. Participates in pre-construction planning efforts during the development phase of projects including development of the Construction Execution Plans and reviewing and analyzing EPC schedules. Working on Project Site locations, On-site project workspace of various conditions which may include temporary office facilities and various levels of outside weather.
** Basic
Job Requirements ** + Craft certification, training, and experience appropriate for assignment scope; directly related experience equal to Ten (10) years*; some locations may have additional or different qualifications to comply with local requirements or equivalent. + Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders. + Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
+ Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines. + Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner. + Adobe, Navisworks, Smart Plant Review skills an asset.
