Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.
Overview
The Construction Superintendent II plans, coordinates, and controls day-to-day field execution for assigned crafts and subcontractors, typically in a Field Superintendent or Area Superintendent capacity, with a primary focus on Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) scope. This role sits inside the Execution Phase of a major capital project - refinery, upstream, or petrochemical facility construction, turnaround, or expansion - and is the direct interface between the tools-down work face and the Construction Site Manager or Construction Site Lead.
The Superintendent owns schedule, budget, and safety performance for their discipline area and works daily alongside multi-disciplinary engineering teams, contractors, and craft labor to keep the job moving.
This is a field-based, travel-required role. Candidates should expect rotational or camp-based assignments across Western Canada and be comfortable stepping into an existing project team mid-stream.
Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and control daily field operations for assigned E&I crafts and subcontractors
Understand, interpret, and execute work from electrical and instrumentation drawings, plans, and specifications
Deliver assigned scope within the contracted schedule and budget
Coordinate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to monitor and control scope, schedule, and cost
Manage field crews, including oversight of earthwork equipment operation and maintenance where E&I scope intersects with civil/mechanical work
Respond to field and client information requests in real time
Champion worker safety programs and hold crews accountable to site safety standards
Oversee contractor fabrication, construction, and hook-up activities for E&I systems during the Execution Phase
Serve as an active member of the Project Team (PT) when formally assigned
Act as the field-level interface between the work face and the Construction Site Manager or Construction Site Lead
Apply working knowledge of Construction Materials Testing procedures and relevant ASTM standards to E&I installation and QA/QC
Qualifications
Prior experience as a Construction Superintendent on a major capital project, with in-field E&I planning, execution, and completions experience
Working knowledge of Construction Materials Testing procedures and ASTM standards
Demonstrated ability to read and execute from electrical and instrumentation drawings and specs
Willingness and ability to travel domestically (and internationally, if required) to project sites, including camp-based rotations
Refinery, petrochemical, or manufacturing facility construction experience is a strong asset
Self-starter with a client-service mindset and demonstrated safety leadership
Comfortable operating on a 4x10 schedule (7am-5pm) in a remote or camp setting
