About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Base Foreman to lead crews on civil construction projects throughout the Edmonton area. The successful candidate will oversee base preparation operations, coordinate daily site activities, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader with extensive knowledge of road building, grading, aggregate placement, and compaction processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate base crews on civil construction projects
  • Oversee placement, grading, and compaction of aggregate base materials
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, grades, and project specifications
  • Coordinate daily activities with project managers, surveyors, subcontractors, and operators
  • Ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and within quality standards
  • Monitor crew productivity and equipment utilization

    Conduct site safety meetings and enforce company safety policies
  • Identify and resolve site issues proactively
  • Complete daily reports, timesheets, and project documentation
  • Assist with scheduling materials, equipment, and manpower requirements
Qualifications & Experience
  • 5+ years of civil construction experience, including supervisory or foreman experience
  • Strong knowledge of road construction, grading, and base preparation
  • Ability to read blueprints, grades, and site plans
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Experience coordinating crews and heavy equipment operations
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license required
  • CSTS, Ground Disturbance, First Aid, and other safety certifications are considered assets
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends when required
