We are seeking a Site Assistant to join our Construction team in Edmonton, Alberta.

At Akash Homes, we hire Site Assistants with growth in mind. This role is designed to give you hands‑on exposure to the full residential construction process while building the technical knowledge, judgement, coordination skills, and leadership capability needed to progress within our Construction team.
You will work closely alongside an experienced Site Superintendent and learn how homes move through each stage of construction, how trades are coordinated, what quality looks like, how homes are prepared for inspections and possession, and what it takes to keep multiple builds moving safely and on schedule.
This is a hands‑on role. You should be comfortable picking up a power tool, moving materials, completing minor repairs, clearing snow, or cleaning a home when that is what the site needs. At the same time, you will be learning the coordination, quality, and leadership side of residential construction.
We believe strongly in coaching and developing our people. As your skills and experience grow, you will be given opportunities to take on increasing responsibility, expand your knowledge of site operations, and continue progressing within our Construction team.
Top 3 Priorities for Your First 6 Months- Learn the build.
Develop a strong understanding of the Akash residential construction process from the early stages of construction through possession, including construction sequencing, quality standards, trade coordination, and inspection requirements. - Keep homes moving.
Become a reliable partner to your Site Superintendent by anticipating what is needed next, preparing homes for trades and inspections, identifying deficiencies, and helping remove obstacles that could impact the construction schedule. - Build toward greater ownership.
Develop the judgement, communication, construction knowledge, and leadership skills needed to take on increasing responsibility within the Construction team.
- Work alongside the Site Superintendent to support homes through all stages of residential construction.
- Walk homes and job sites regularly to monitor progress and identify quality, safety, cleanliness, or scheduling concerns.
- Prepare homes and sites for upcoming trades, inspections, walkthroughs, and possession.
- Assist with quality control checks, deficiency identification, and completion of outstanding items.
- Follow up with trade partners on work in progress and communicate delays, deficiencies, or concerns to the Site Superintendent.
- Perform hands‑on construction and finishing work, including minor framing adjustments, drywall repairs, painting and touch‑ups, deck stairs, railings, and other small‑scope repairs.
- Receive, move, stage, and organize materials needed to keep construction progressing.
- Maintain safe access to homes under construction, including pathways, temporary walkways, and seasonal snow and ice removal.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized homes and job sites, including construction debris removal, sweeping, vacuuming, and general cleanup.
