We are currently seeking qualified Pipe fitters to join our on-site Construction team for one-month
based at a remote camp location near Fort McKay, Alberta
. This position offers the opportunity to participate in the construction of the Imperial Oil (IOL) Kearl Lake Sodium Citrate Injection Process System.
The schedule is planned as a 21-day-on rotation
, consisting of 12-hour workdays
. While preference will be given to local candidates,
fly-in/fly-out
options from Edmonton, Alberta, and Calgary, Alberta may be available based on eligibility.
Hourly rate: Ranges from $32.15/hr. to $53.58/hr.
Job DescriptionDuties & Responsibilities:
- Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine layout requirements
- Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
- Select type and size of pipe required
- Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
- Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
- Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
- Hydrotest system for leaks using testing equipment
- Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
- Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
- Other duties as required
- Apprentice up to and including Journeyperson Red Seal level
- Strong technical knowledge and proven experience in pipe fitting
- Experience in an industrial setting required
- Knowledge and experience with industrial construction and operations
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to clearly communicate with all levels of a project organization
Required Tickets:
- Fall Protection Certification
As part of the recruitment process, successful clearance of applicable pre-employment checks is required which may include Criminal Background/Police Information check, Drug & Alcohol test, Reference checks as well as submittal of Provincial Driver’s Abstract. In addition, standard HSE certifications may be required including WHMIS, First Aid etc.
