The Teaching Artist role focuses on delivering instrumental instruction to groups of up to 20 young musicians. You’ll work collaboratively with a team to support students' musical education while fostering a community centered on creativity and inclusivity. Planning includes after-school instruction and participation in performances.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach instrumental music to diverse groups of up to 20 students
• Facilitate rehearsals and organize concerts for participants
• Provide academic support during breaks
• Collaborate with the YONA team on programming goals
• Promote a positive, equitable learning environment
Requirements:
• Advanced proficiency in brass instrument(s) required
• Prior teaching experience with children is essential
• Competence with Microsoft Office and Google applications
• Excellent communication skills to engage families
• Understanding of social justice in music education
