Circulation Assistant – Lois Hole Library
This is a temporary position until February 20, 2027.

Overview
We are seeking a team‑oriented and customer‑focused member to assist with circulation services, help patrons locate resources, open new memberships, and maintain library materials. The role involves assisting patrons with technology, delivering excellent customer service, and contributing positively to a dynamic library environment.

Responsibilities

Open new memberships and resolve membership questions

Provide circulation duties and handle library materials

Assist patrons with the use of technology, devices, and information resources (print and electronic)

Use communication and interpersonal skills to deliver effective customer service

Contribute positively within a team environment

Participate in problem‑solving and troubleshooting tasks related to library services

Qualifications

High School Diploma (or GED) is essential

Minimum one year of experience in a library or a customer‑service focused environment

Experience with Microsoft Office, web‑based services, and other applications

Commitment to uphold the Canadian Library Association’s position statements on Intellectual Freedom and Diversity and Inclusion

Strong communication, interpersonal and technology assistance skills

Physical Requirements

Frequent standing, walking, bending; lifting, reaching, pushing and pulling book carts

Schedule

Varied schedule including day, evening and weekend shifts

Background Screening

Background screening, including Criminal Record Check/Police Information Check, is required

Pay
$27.98 – $35.71 per hour ($51,126 – $65,249 per annum, 35‑hour week). Shift differential may apply.
