Large general contractor is seeking an experienced Design Manager to focus on major design-build healthcare projects ($150m+) in Vancouver BC, Kamloops BC, Toronto ON, and Edmonton AB. You are a Design Manager with 8-10 years of experience, with a proven track record of meeting scope requirements and milestones. Salary range is $130,000 - $180,000. Outpost Recruitment is excited to work with our client on this full-time, permanent role.

Responsibilities

of Design Manager
  • Management of the development of design-build proposals for P3 and other design-build projects
  • Management of the design team to develop compliant and innovative design solutions in response to RFP requirements
  • Analysis of project requirements and development of strategies to win opportunities
  • Development of submissions and presentations during the RFP period
  • Collaborative review and assessment of RFP documentation with the design team
  • Development and coordination of design documentation to support project estimating
  • Preparation of technical submissions, including design and construction narratives and drawing packages
  • Development of project schedules and logistics plans in coordination with the project team
  • Building and maintaining relationships with partner consultants and trade contractors
  • Working collaboratively with mechanical and electrical design managers, estimators, and other project team members
Education &

Experience of Design Manager
  • Construction-related degree and 8-10 years of design-build management experience
  • Knowledge of construction scopes, activities, scheduling, project management, and contract software
  • Ability to mentor and delegate effectively while maintaining strong client relationships
  • Experience with design-build/construction management delivery models and contracts
  • Experience in acute healthcare renovations and new builds
  • Excellent communication, organizational, supervisory, and planning skills
