Sturgeon Public Schools is currently recruiting a Full-Time Temporary Grade 2/3 French Immersion Teacher for Morinville Public School located just minutes north of St. Albert in the community of Morinville.
MPS offers engaging and specialized programming for students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 4. Our dedicated staff work collaboratively to provide an exceptional education in a safe, caring, and inclusive environment, grounded in a child-centred philosophy that emphasizes play and project-based learning.
What You'll Be Doing- Deliver high-quality French Immersion instruction aligned with the Alberta curriculum
- Support literacy development using evidence-informed instructional strategies, including guided reading
- Create engaging, language-rich learning environments that support student growth
- Use formative and summative assessment to inform instruction and support learning
- Foster positive classroom relationships that promote well-being and academic success
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance programming and share best practices
- Contribute to school and community initiatives
- Permanent or Interim Alberta Teaching Certificate
- Strong understanding of current trends in French Immersion literacy instruction and evaluation
- Knowledge and application of guided reading strategies
- DELF B2 French language proficiency both written and oral
- Experience with differentiated instruction in an inclusive learning environment
- Understanding and application of formative and summative assessment
- Understanding and application of differentiated instruction as part of an inclusive learning environment
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet student and school needs
