French teacher for children AB

Join the Global LT community and help provide language lessons to business professionals and their families worldwide. We are hiring a French Language Teacher to provide in-person lessons to our client.

• Student:
  Child (9 years old)
• Location:
  
  Edmonton, Alberta – near Ambleside Pond, T6W 0K2
• Preferred start date: ASAP
• Lesson format:
  Face-to-face, in-person

• Availability:
  Friday evenings, between 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm
• Lesson Frequency: 1 time per week
• Lesson Duration: 1 hour each
• Current level:
  Beginner
• Native/other languages:
  Tamil, English
• Goals:
  • Provide tuition support for schoolwork and build confidence for upcoming exams
  • Strengthen understanding of school French curriculum and assignments
  • Build vocabulary and grammar skills appropriate for grade level
  • Improve reading and comprehension abilities
  • Prepare for language exams and develop school‑related communication skills
  • Understand how schools function in the new country
  • Learn through games and interactive conversation practice

• Design engaging and structured lessons aligned with the school’s French curriculum
• Support completion and understanding of school assignments
• Incorporate games, conversation, and interactive methods to enhance motivation
• Focus on grammar, reading, and vocabulary building
• Help the student gain confidence in both spoken and written French
• Provide regular feedback and adapt lessons to the student’s learning pace and interests

• Native or near‑native proficiency in French
• Certificate or degree in language teaching, education, linguistics, or related field
• Minimum of 2 years’ teaching or tutoring experience with children
• Experience supporting school-aged students and homework assistance
• Ability to make lessons fun, interactive, and tailored to the child’s learning goals
