Position Overview

St.Thomas Aquinas Catholic Schools invites applications for a temporary full‑time Grade 4 teaching position at Sacred Heart School in Wetaskiwin, Alberta. This position covers a maternity leave and will commence on August 27, 2026, ending on February 19, 2027.

Cover a maternity leave for a Grade 4 teacher.

Assist with school co‑curricular and extra‑curricular programming.

• Experience with/knowledge of Daily 5, literacy and numeracy interventions.
• Willingness to support extra‑curricular programming.
• Certificate in Catholic Education from St. Joseph's College.

• Teaching certification required for a Grade 4 position.
• Experience with Daily 5 literacy and numeracy interventions.
• Certificate in Catholic Education from St. Joseph's College (asset).
• Willingness to support extra‑curricular programming (asset).

The Government of Canada offers Student Loan Forgiveness for teachers working in Wetaskiwin for 10 consecutive months with a student loan in good standing. Eligible teachers may receive up to $30,000 over a maximum of five years.

Applicants should submit a resume and two reference letters. A pastoral reference, although not required, would be considered an asset. A standard letter or the reference form available on the STAR Catholic website may be used.
