Education Assistant

Position: Full-Time Education Assistant
Make a difference with Unlimited Potential Community Services as a Full-Time Education Assistant in Edmonton, AB. Support students with special needs and contribute to a safe, therapeutic environment.

This term position, ending June 30, 2027, focuses on empowering children and youth facing emotional and behavioral challenges. You will work under the guidance of certified teachers while adhering to a culturally sensitive treatment philosophy. The ideal candidate should be passionate about providing quality support and possess experience in behavior management related to special needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist certified teachers in supporting students’ educational needs

• Create a safe therapeutic environment for children

• Implement behavior management strategies effectively

• Document student progress and maintain communication

• Work collaboratively in a team environment

Requirements:

• Certificate or diploma as an Education Assistant or in Human Services

• Experience with special needs children preferred

• Knowledge of Indigenous culture and issues

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Clear Police Information Check and Child Intervention Record Check
