Position: Temporary Full-Time Grade 4 French Immersion Teacher
Location: Beaumont

St.Thomas Aquinas Catholic Schools invites applications for a temporary full‑time Grade 4 French Immersion teaching position at Académie Saint-André Academy in Beaumont, Alberta. This position will begin August 26, 2026 and end June 25, 2027.

Ability to assist in the school’s co‑curricular and extra‑curricular programs would be considered an asset. Possessing a certificate in Catholic Education from St. Joseph’s College is an asset.

The Government of Canada offers Student Loan Forgiveness to teachers who work in Beaumont for 10 consecutive months and have a student loan in good standing. You could receive up to $30,000 over a maximum of 5 years.

Académie Saint-André Academy offers a dual‑track English and French Immersion program for Beaumont and area students in Kindergarten to Grade
4. Enrollment continues to climb, with nearly 370 students.

Beaumont’s rich Francophone history comes alive at Académie Saint-André Academy. The school is founded on the life of Saint‑André whose life was based on prayer, hard work, and service to others.

The school is like a close‑knit family and provides a complete faith‑filled education to students.

Beaumont is a town located 3.2 kilometers south of the City of Edmonton. Originally a French farming community, Beaumont is now a town of 17,720 people. Its downtown core resembles a French village with unique architecture and red‑brick walkways. It is named for the “beautiful hill” on which St. Vital Church, built in 1919, is located within the centre of the town.

Applicants are encouraged to submit their résumé along with two reference letters. A pastoral reference, although not required, would be considered an asset. The reference can be in the form of a standard letter or downloaded using the careers link on the STAR Catholic website.

Successful applicants will be required to submit a current (within 6 months) criminal record check inclusive of a vulnerable sector check and a current Alberta Children’s Services Intervention Record Check (within 6 months).
