Cluster Vision
The Faculty of Engineering invites applications for a faculty position within a five‑position cluster that focuses on infrastructure resilience, environmental sustainability and responsible resource development across Geotechnical, Environmental, Water Resources and Mining Engineering.

Description:
Environmental Engineering
A full‑time, tenure‑track Assistant, Associate or Full Professor position. Candidates should have expertise in drinking water quality and treatment, including advanced treatment processes for emerging contaminants and pathogens, nature‑based solutions, the water‑environment‑health nexus, risk assessment, climate resilience, AI‑powered smart water treatment, and resilient drinking‑water infrastructure. The successful candidate will establish a multidisciplinary research program integrating drinking‑water quality with broader watershed, urban water and climate‑resilience challenges and develop and teach courses in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering.
Complementary Cluster Positions
The position will be filled alongside appointments in Geotechnical Engineering, Geoenvironmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering and Mining Engineering to foster interdisciplinary collaboration.
Research Infrastructure
Geotechnical Centre – provides advanced laboratory testing, field investigation and numerical modelling.
Water Research Centre – focuses on integrated, innovative and sustainable water strategies.
Centre for Computational Geostatistics – offers expertise in spatial uncertainty quantification and data‑driven decision‑making.
Responsibilities
Teach courses (≈40% of time), supervise students and provide academic support, including classroom instruction and advising.
Conduct research (≈40% of time), publish, seek external funding and disseminate results.
Provide service (≈20% of time) to the University, Department, Faculty and community, and participate in governance.
Qualifications
Must hold a PhD in Geotechnical, Geoenvironmental, Environmental, Mining, Water Resources, Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline by the appointment start date. Candidates must demonstrate an established record or exceptional potential for excellence in research, teaching and mentoring, with evidence of a trajectory of impactful contributions to their field.
