Sturgeon Public Schools is currently seeking a Full-Time Temporary Educational Assistant 3 for a work assignment at Morinville Public School.

Morinville Public offers specialised, exciting programs for students in Pre-K through Grade 4. Our talented staff are dedicated to providing an exceptional education in a safe and caring environment. Our staff engage students through a child-centred philosophy, play and project-based instruction.

• Provide academic and behavioural support to students with complex needs and disabilities.
• Implement individualised education plans and positive behaviour supports.
• Assist students with daily routines, mobility, and personal care as required.
• Support inclusive learning environments that foster engagement and success.
• Collaborate effectively with the teaching team and other school staff.
• Strong understanding of proactive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques
• Planning and implementing individualised programming using ABLLs (Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills).

• Educational Assistant or Early Childhood Diploma/Certificate.
• Minimum of two years’ experience working with students with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
• Formal training in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and behaviour management strategies.
• Current First Aid, CPR, and TCIS certification.
• Knowledge and experience with special needs support, including tube feeding, toileting, diapering, lifts, and wheelchairs
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to remain calm, patient, and compassionate in challenging situations.
• Equivalencies consisting of a combination of education and a minimum of five years of related experience as an EA2 may be considered.
• Clear Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
• Experience in STEM-based learning opportunities
